The inclusive cork oak forest: where nature cares

Valdelosa’s cork oak forest, one of the largest in Castile and León, has become a model of sustainable forest management and social inclusion thanks to the collaboration between the local council and the Aspar La Besana Association. Here, people with disabilities play an active role in the visitor experience, taking part in guided tours and educational activities in a project where both the forest and the community flourish together.

Just a few kilometres from Salamanca, in the peaceful Ledesma region, Valdelosa is home to a remarkable natural treasure: more than 2,000 hectares of cork oak forest, where the trees provide not only cork but also opportunities.
